In three days using letters, lines, and flourishes along with various tooling techniques, students will learn what they need to know so they can go home and practice to get successful and consistent finishing results over time.

Mark will cover techniques for getting gold leaf to stick and students will experiment with applying tooling to a variety of surfaces from paper to cloth and leather developing best-practice methods for each surface. Participants will also gain an understanding of the relationship between how hot tools should be and the necessary pressure that should be applied for each type of tooling they will practice. Tips for design and pattern creation will be shared so students can utilize what they used in class on their own projects at home.
