Edges gilt before sewing, sewn on four linen tapes, patterned paste paper endleaves, spine rounded and backed, laminated and cushioned boards laced on, double silk endbands handsewn. Covered in dark green goat skin. Airbrushed calf and goat skin onlays. Mass gold tooled onlays. Mass gold tooled cut through lettering on spine. Gold tooled. 220 x 27 x 1.5 centimeters. Born 1972, Cambridge, England. Graduated with BEng Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, London, in 1995. Trained with James Brockman. Has taught workshops and has lectured in the UK, Canada, Europe and USA. Set up a bindery and worked in Chile 2000–2003. Has been awarded several prizes including first prize in 1999 in the Designer Bookbinder’s Competition. Overall winner in the National Library of Scotland bookbinding competition in 2004. Juror at the Helen Warren De Golyer Bookbinding Competition, Bridwell Library, Texas, January 2006. Has modern bindings in a wide range of private collections worldwide, The British Library and the National Library of Scotland. Elected a Fellow of Designer Bookbinders in 2004.
