Box binding. Original dust jacket elements laminated between board sandwich of aluminum and vivak plastic and framed with gray goat skin on the outside and black suede doublures on the inside of the boards. Handsewn silk endbands. All edges treated with graphite, sanded, and tooled. Black suede flyleaves. Leather blind tooled and airbrushed. 21.5 x 15.5 x 3.5 centimeters. Created 2006.


Don Rash was born in Dover, Delaware in 1952. He worked as binder/conservator at Haverford College in Haverford, Pennsylvania from 1978 to 1986. During this time he and his wife Pam studied bookbinding and calligraphy with Trudi and Fritz Eberhardt. In 1986 they relocated to Lake Harmony in the Poconos. After Pam’s death in 1989, Don moved the studio into the Wyoming Valley, where he continues to work.
