Gerard Charrière was born in 1935 in Fribourg, Switzerland. He studied bookbinding at the Ecole des Arts et Metiers in Basel, the Ecole Estienne in Paris, and the Art Students League in New York. A former long-time resident of New York, he has since returned to Europe and is currently living in Berlin, Germany. Website at www.gerard-charriere.com.
