Hope G. Weil studied bookbinding with Edith Diehl, and later studied in France and England. After her return to the United States, she worked for some time in a professional bindery. She joined the Guild in 1939, was a past President, and long-time supporter of its activities. She was also a very active teacher. In May of 1981 she was honored with an exhibition, Creative Bookbinding — the Art and Teaching of Hope Weil, at Princeton University Library.
