There is a new form of carrageenan size being offered by some suppliers. It is quite a bit less expensive than the kind most people have purchased in the past, but it is practically useless for marbling. Be warned if you are offered a powdered size that is considerably cheaper, to buy only a small amount initially to try out, as it may not work.
A show called Floating Magic Color - Six Influential Marblers & Their Craft will be open through April 12 at the Columbia College Chicago Center for Book and Paper Arts, 218 S.
