Abbey Newsletter's Supplies column in November mentioned the Letraset empty fillable felt-tip markers. This seems to be a possible substitute for the graphic pen used by Elaine Schlefer to make precise wet lines for tearing strips of repair tissue. Elaine demonstrated its use in tearing strips for binding single sheets using folded Japanese tissue at the Tuscaloosa Standards Seminar. If you have trouble finding the graphic pen (as your editor did in San Francisco), this may be the solution. They sell as the 'Tria' for $2.95 each, come in three widths.
