California Chapter

The California Chapter's first official meeting of 1997 elected the following officers for the next year:

President: Alice Vaughan
Secretary: Barbara Wood
Program Chairman: Joanne Page
Newsletter Editor: Lauralee Bennett

With Alice at the helm and Joanne organizing programs of interest, the chapter is looking forward to a busy active year. Official meetings will be planned four times a year with workshops and other activities whenever possible. Alice's suggestion that we each bring two sheets of paper to exchange with others was so successful that this will be continued at future meetings. Those of you who want to join the Chapter should contact Barbara Wood: 3530 Mountain View, Los Angeles, CA 90066.

Lone Star Chapter

The Lone Star Chapter's winter meeting will take place in Austin, Texas on February 15. Nominations for officers are being requested now for elections at that time. In addition, they will have a repeat of the successful Book Arts Flea Market & Swap Meet that they put onlast summer jointly with the Austin Book Workers. The meeting and Flea Market will be held at the Slugfest Studios, 1906 Miriam Ave., Austin, TX. This is the former studio of W. Thomas Taylor, printer, and publisher of the late periodical Bookways. There will be a silent auction for the benefit of the two groups. You can contact Priscilla Spitler at her new studio in Buda, Texas at 512 295-3714.

Delaware Valley Chapter

The Delaware Valley Chapter's winter meeting took place on December 12 at the Nexus Gallery in Philadelphia. As their members wanted meetings for sharing information on their own studio and professional projects, this meeting was on "Works in Progress," with members bringing something they were working on at the time. Future meetings will include "Materials & sources," "Jigs and Tools" and "Teflon Folders".
