Guild News: Standards and the Annual Auction

The GBW's Second Annual Auction will take place during the Banquet on Friday, October 24th. If you have items to donate to this popular event, please send a listing of the item or items to Karen Crisalli, at The Bookbinder's Warehouse, as soon as possible. The August Newsletter will give instructions for sending the actual items to Ann Arbor.

Application forms and information about the Standards Seminar to be held in Ann Arbor, Michigan, October 23-25 can be found in this issue. Please return your forms, with payment, as soon as possible. Because expenses increase each year, the registration fees will be $115 this year, an increase of $5 over last year. Application forms for Scholarships to the Seminar are also inserted in this issue.

There will be an open carousel for participants to show slides of their work at the Banquet. The first 20 people to sign the sign-up sheet may display one slide and will have one minute to talk about their work.

This year's tours include a full-day tour to the Toledo Museum of Art for $25 (lunch included), a free tour of two publishing houses, or a self-guided tour of Ann Arbor and its many bookstores.
