Interior Landscape, 2012
Elements of constructed perspective are explored in overlapping scenes along a continuous horizon line. Carved recesses, inset mirrors, and a meniscus lens add to the optical artifice and manipulation of scale. Anatomical and architectural drawings are collaged with ink, graphite, acrylics, and mineral oil. The pages are sawn from a single piece of salvaged lumber, and fitted with custom brass hinges allowing full rotation. Original text is by the artist.
