The Dream of Perpetual Motion, 2012
The Dream of Perpetual Motion, a modern steampunk classic, is based upon Shakespeare's final play The Tempest. The dreamlike sequences of the novel are reflected in the book design, which merges references to an Arcadian past with a coldly mechanical alternative, a retro-future world. All pages artificially aged with inks; added front and back pages; binding of distressed copper-leafed boards with inset brass-leafed edging secured with brass nails. Front and back windows glazed with mica.
