Description: Box-binding covered in Chieftain goatskin with Cotlin natural finish book cloth sides and boards; endpapers of Hahnemühle Ingres; paper samples sewn onto colored Tyvek guards; colored Tyvek stubs sewn all-along; title blind stamped on spine with sepia-toned photocopy cover art.
Binder's Statement: After looking at both a bound copy and my loose sheets, I realized I enjoyed handling the paper feeling the texture, holding it up to the light to see watermarks and irregularities and did not want to sew it permanently into a book. Still, loose sheets in a box can get lost or damaged. My solution was to design a binding that would store and protect the leaves, yet still let the reader remove the pages for closer examination. My binding incorporates a textblock of slotted stubs sewn onto the leaves, letting the readers turn the pages like a book but allowing them to remove those they wish to further explore.
