Jay Millar, Woods/Pages, 2008
Woods/Pages features a collection of poems and musings conceived during walks through the woods. "I see the Woods as a vessel of creativity enabling the author to capture the ideas, thoughts, musings, and inscribe them onto paper pages." The double flyleaf binding with initial sewing on wooden stubs allows the book to open flat. The secondary sewing consists of golden staples threaded through tiny hand carved wooden clasps and secured with parchment slats on the outer flyleaf. The cover was crafted with Stone (Slate) Leaf that has been sanded and polished. The book is titled and tooled with gold leaf. Signed limited edition Letter U of 26.
Stone, gold staples, wooden clasps, parchment, Japanese papers.
