Pamela Spitzmueller, Guild Librarian, reports that the catalog of the Guild's holdings is close to being printed. Copies will be sent to all members as soon as possible and the catalog will eventually appear on the Internet, as well. The Guild Library has about 700 books that can be borrowed free by mail for 30 days. They will be sent to you at no charge - you pay only the return postage. We have books on bookbinding, marbling, papermaking, the history of bookbinding, printing, exhibition catalogs and more. Contact Pam Spitzmueller at the University of Iowa Libraries.
The videos of the last three years' Seminars are being edited and will go to the Library as soon as they are finished. We think we finally have a solution to what has been a knotty problem - how to get good, clear, useful tapes without spending down the entire cash reserve of the Guild. In the meantime, the documentary tapes on the edge gilders in New York, R. Marchetti & Bro., has been finished and two copies will besent to the Library for borrowing. They are also for sale - see Publications, this issue.
