Modern Coptic binding symbolizing ancient Egyptian/Coptic concept of Ba (soul-bird) and use of indigo dye during death rituals. Light blue goatskin, tooled and stitched around cutwork backed with indigo painted leather. Text of indigo dyed papyrus and abaca paper. Deer bone peg clasps.
