Flight: The Continuous Puzzle of Man

Visual puzzle cube illustrating a century of flight from the 1903 Wright Brothers' lift-off to the Columbia Space Shuttle disaster of 2003. Photo fragments combine to tell 14 stories documented in a separate, spiral bound "flight manual." Cube housed in a black box with four drop walls.

PATTY BRUCE has studied bookbinding at the Craft Guild of Dallas, and taken lessons in Dallas from Pam Leutz, Jan Sobota, and David Lawrence. Her work was included in the 2003 Helen Warren DeGolyer Triennial Exhibition at the Bridwell Library, SMU. She is now Department Co-Chair, Bookbinding, for the Craft Guild, Dallas.
