What are the benefits of membership?

Members of the Guild of Book Workers have access to a wide variety of services and activities:

  • Bimonthly newsletter
  • Semi- annual journal
  • Membership directory
  • Directories of Study Opportunities and Suppliers
  • A lending library of historical and contemporary books, catalogs, newsletters and videos.
  • A listserv and online forum for sharing information.
  • Opportunities to enter work in traveling exhibitions.
  • Participation in the Seminar on Standards of Excellence in Hand Bookbinding (referred to simply as "Standards").
  • Regional chapter activities.
  • Member discounts on GBW merchandise, such as exhibit catalogs, Standard's videos, and other publications

How do I renew my membership?

In order to access the renewal form, you must be logged into the website. Use your email and password in the User Login section at the bottom of the page. The following menu options will not appear if you are not logged in.


You can access the renewal form from two different places:

  • Under Members Only, click My Account. Then click the Renew button at the lower right side of the page.

  • Under Membership, click Renew My Membership.
How do I update my information?

In order to change your membership information, you must be logged into the website. Use your email and password in the User Login section at the bottom of the page. The following menu options will not appear if you are not logged in.


Under Members Only, click My Account. Then click the Edit Info button at the lower left side of the page. Click Submit at the bottom of the page when you are finished.

How do I reset my password?

At the bottom of the front page, under User Login, click Request New Password. On the next page, type in your email address and click Email New Password. You should then receive an email with a single-use link to reset your password.

How do I access the Membership Directory?

The full membership directory is only available to current members. In order to access the membership directory, you must be logged into the website. Use your email and password in the User Login section at the bottom of the page.


Under Members Only, click Member Directory.

I'm being denied access to the Membership Directory. What gives?

In order to access the membership directory, you must be logged into your account. Use your email and password in the User Login section at the bottom of the page. When you are successfully logged in, you will see a welcome message in green at the upper-right of the page. You might also try clicking Log Out and then logging back in.
