Winged Formation
When I was first considering this project, the skies were full of birds, and I immediately thought of the beautiful formations of migrating geese. The Indigo Day Cave Paper sky, full of formations of geese, contrasts with the earthiness of the leather and the absence of birds. The V folds of the structure flow with the shape of the formations. The images are stenciled in watercolor.
Siegel goat leather, binders board, PVA, wheat starch paste, Cave Paper (Indigo Day), watercolor. 6.25 x 4.75 x .5 inches. 17 x 12.2 x 1.2 centimeters. Created 2017.
