Jeff Nilan
Delaware, Ohio
Jeff received his MFA from Indiana University. His work has been shown throughout the United States and is in multiple Artists' book collections. His art draws influence from his roots and upbringing up in Nebraska, as well as the landscape and culture of the Midwest. Jeff is interested in the ways that art reflects and shapes the mythology of a region. His handmade books focus on the people, landscape, and structures of rural southwestern Iowa. Jeff currently resides in Delaware, Ohio, and is Associate Professor of Photography at Ohio Wesleyan University.

FEED, 2012
FEED weaves together etchings by printmaker Bill Hosterman and cyanotype photographs by Jeff Nilan. Etchings of twisting, arcing lines are juxtaposed and layered with photographs of winding creeks, soaring vultures, and crooked trees. This slender case bound book is comprised of 40 pages, printed on various Japanese papers.
