CB Sherlock

Since 2004, CB Sherlock and Regula Russelle have been making books, broadsides, and folios together with students, interns and colleagues, under the imprint Accordion Press Collaborations, in the studios of Minnesota Center for Book Arts. Their projects integrate art and literature, and feature a variety of printmaking and book binding techniques. The press had a serendipitous start when they made a book in preparation for a class, and discovered that their talents multiplied when they worked together. Their award winning books are found in many special collections including the Walker Art Center, the British Library, and MOMA. CB and Regula's collaborations are currently on exhibit in the Lerner Bindery Gallery at Minnesota Center for Book Arts.

Horizontal Grandeur, 2011

Each human being views the world through different eyes. Horizontal Grandeur, an essay written by Bill Holm, describes seeing through "prairie eyes." These are the perfect words to relate the feeling of intoxication found in large expanses of landscape. Using the text as part of the imagery, this book encompasses the abounding, organic beauty of the prairie: the wide paper, the tall grasses, and the joyous colors. The text runs horizontally across 56 inches of paper, making the viewer move across the paper like the eye moves across the horizon, experiencing the largeness of the prairie.
